A truly gorgeous vintage jewellery box in an elegant octagonal form, crafted from warm honey-toned wood with a stunning marquetry inlay to the lid. The intricate floral bouquet design — featuring a full rose bloom, buds, leaves and blossoms in multiple contrasting wood tones — is framed by a fine geometric banding border in dark and light wood. A real piece of craftsmanship.

The interior is lined throughout in deep crimson velvet and features a central double ring slot, two open side compartments for earrings, pendants or brooches, and a generous lower section for larger pieces. The hinged lid opens to reveal a mirror framed by the beautiful octagonal wood surround, with a secure gold-tone hinge.

A former sticker is visible on the base, now missing — consistent with quality makers such as Mele, though we cannot verify the brand. The style and quality of construction is very much in keeping with that tradition.
